Survey on work-related health and functioning (IE)

 

You are invited to take part in a study named “Thoughts, Emotions and Behaviours Connected with Jobs” from the University of Limerick, Republic of Ireland. This information sheet will tell you what the study is about. The project is carried out by the international team led by Dr. Edyta Charzyńska from the University of Silesia in Katowice, Poland, and Dr. Paweł Atroszko from the University of Gdańsk, Poland. The study is conducted in over 60 countries from 6 continents and is supported by the National Science Centre in Poland. 

You can participate in this study if you meet the following criteria:
– you live in the Republic of Ireland and you are an Irish citizen,
– you are an adult,
– you work in an organisation with at least 10 employees in total, 
– you have been working for your present employer at least for a year,
– you work full-time.

· Purpose: This study is designed to aims to investigate people’s thoughts, emotions and behaviours connected with their jobs.
 
– What you will have to do: The study consists a variety of measures that relate to your preferences and experiences. Your participation will take approximately 15-20 minutes, after reading and signing the consent form. Please complete the questionnaire carefully. No responses are right or wrong. What is important for us are sincere answers, reflecting what you really think and feel.  
 
– Benefits: After completing the survey, you can participate in the €100 One4All voucher draw.

Moreover, this research may make you more aware of how knowledge is discovered in psychology and help the investigator better understand the relationship between individual preferences and experiences. If you decide to participate, you will fill in various questionnaires. After completing the questionnaire, you will see your results with a straightforward description. This will provide you with important and valuable psychological information, which may help you better understand yourself, your behaviours, and especially your functioning at work. In this way, it may help you gain a better insight into your strengths and weaknesses.  
 
– Risks: There are no known risks associated with these studies. 
 
– What if I do not want to take part? Participation in this study is voluntary and you can choose not to take part or to stop your involvement in this study at any time.  
 
– What happens if I change my mind during the study? At any stage should you feel that you want to stop taking part in the study, you are free to stop and take no further part. There are no consequences for changing your mind about being in the study.
 
– What happens at the end of the study? At the end of the study the information will be used for analyses. The information will be completely anonymous. No participant’s name will appear in any of the results. All data gathered from the research will be stored securely and safely by the researchers. Information that is stored on computer will be stored on a computer that is password-protected.
 
– What if I have more questions or do not understand something? If you have any questions about the study you may contact either of the researchers. It is important that you feel that all your questions have been answered.
